Supporting Local Communities
Neighbourhood and Community Centres have provided vital services during the floods, through COVID-19, and are helping people keep a roof over their heads during the housing crisis.
Community centres are trying to keep up with unprecedented demand, but the funding they get each year is barely enough to pay one staff member and keep the lights on.
NCQ and QCOSS are calling on the Queensland Government to properly fund Neighbourhood and Community Centres in the upcoming State Budget, so they can meet the communities’ vital needs.
