Description
This 2-page case study captures the work of Caloundra Community Centre’s ‘Peer Leadership to Support Disaster Resilience’ Project which uncovered the unique views of people experiencing homelessness and their unique challenges during extreme weather events. The project led to more inclusive disaster planning on the Sunshine Coast. The case study includes a project overview, steps in the project process, a list of key outcomes, key learnings and a summary of community-led considerations.
This case study is a part of a series of case studies capturing examples community-led disaster resilience taking place in Neighbourhood Centres, and supports the delivery of the Queensland Neighbourhood Centres Strategy for Disaster Resilience 2023-2026.
