Neighbourhood Centres across the state are hosting a variety of events from open days to community lunches, games and more.
🎉 North Townsville Community Hub is having their annual NOTCH Open Day on Thursday 15th May, this year with an added carpark cinema movie night! There will be a petting zoo, playgroup and sensory station, youth group and ping pong challenge, food box challenge, scavenger hunt, garden club and more.
🎉 Deception Bay Neighbourhood Centre is hosting a Community Connect Day on Wednesday 21st May with hands-on stalls and activities from local services, kids’ goodie bags, popcorn & sausage sizzle, fun games, lucky door prize and more.
🎉 Port Douglas Neighbourhood Centre is hosting an Open Day on Tuesday 13th May to welcome their community in to their Centre. There will be a petting zoo, jumping castle, art and craft, live music, free food and an outside broadcast from their local radio station.
🎉 The Neighbourhood Hub is bringing a community art mural to life during the week with a splash of colour from all the amazing things happening at their Centre, from Prep Ready Kids and Community Playgroup to their Mid-Week Meal and everyone who drops into their Centre.
🎉 Communify Queensland North West Brisbane Community Hub in Bardon is hosting an open house followed by a potluck lunch at Jubilee Hall including choir performances and interactive art mural.
🎉 New Farm Neighbourhood Centre is hosting a celebration on Friday 16th May including arts and crafts, outdoor activities, lucky door prizes, food and community spirit.
🎉 Hambledon House Community Centre is hosting an exciting day of activities on Friday 16th May including a special visit from children’s author Sally Rippin! They’re also launching the Hambledon Highway Story Walk where you’ll find giant pages from children’s books displayed along the path – turning reading into a fun, active adventure!
🎉 Charleville Neighbourhood Centre is hosting an Amazing Race on Tuesday 13th May with free entry, prizes and giveaways. There will be an afternoon tea after the race in the Centre’s park.
🎉 Mareeba Community Centre is hosting a variety of activities across the whole week including a Meet your Neighbours BBQ, meet and greet with MNC staff and painting self portraits, drumming, cooking and mindfulness and yoga!
🎉 Chinchilla Community Centre is celebrating 10 years at their Middle St Centre Thursday 15th May as part of the week. There will be birthday cake, jumping castle, sausage sizzle, face painting, music, games and more.
🎉 Mossman Support Services is kicking off the week with a fun Bunting Making Workshop! The bunting represents the vibrant snippet of their community’s story, each one unique and full of life.
🎉 Lockyer Community Centre are celebrating an amazing 40 years of caring for their community on Thursday 15th May with a sausage sizzle, cake, activities for children and giveaways.
🎉 Kyabra Community Association Inc. is hosting a free BBQ lunch for their community on Wednesday 14th May.
🎉 Childers Neighbourhood Centre is hosting an event at Millennium Park on Tuesday 13th May with a variety of activities, opportunities to meet the staff, have a chat and enjoy some morning tea.
🎉 Monto Neighbourhood Centre is hosting a BBQ Feast on Thursday 15th May as part of their MNC Monthly Lunch to celebrate the week.
🎉 Leichhardt One Mile Community Centre is celebrating a free morning tea on Thursday 15th May as an opportunity to meet some of the community along with a take home gift. They’re also inviting people to bring along their favourite affirmation to share on the community affirmation board.
🎉 Encircle Pine Rivers Neighbourhood Centre is inviting their community to come along on Thursday 15th May to meet the Encircle team, enjoy fun kids after school activities, free food, and discover how they can support you and your family.
🎉 Prospect Community Services Ltd. will be hosting a free BBQ Sausage Sizzle on Friday 16th May at the Wellness Hub to celebrate!
🎉 Graham House Community Centre is partnering with the neighbouring centres of Centacare Kingaroy and South Burnett CTC Inc Nanango to bring you a fun day of Hoy games on Tuesday 13th May with a free lunch and Lots of great prizes to be won.
🎉 Baringa Community Centre invites their community to come and celebrate on Wednesday 21st May by connecting with program workers, enjoying fun activities, sharing afternoon tea and an opportunity to share thoughts and ideas about what you’d love to see at the Centre.
🎉 The Y Cannon Hill Community Centre is hosting a pizza party on Tuesday 13th May where you can meet their team, volunteers and connect with other community members and find out about all the services, supports and programs the Centre has available.
🎉 Sherwood Neighbourhood Centre Inc. is having a celebratory lunch on Friday 16th May for their fabulous volunteers who give their time generously contributing to all the activities and programs at the Centre.
🎉 Picabeen Community Centre is hosting a community BBQ on Tuesday 13th May for people to get together and socialise.
🎉 Care Goondiwindi is setting up a street stall on Thursday 15th May with information about their Centre. There will also be cupcakes and biscuits!
🎉 Ravenshoe Community Centre is celebrating with an event on Wednesday 21st May including food, fun and information provided about their Centre.
🎉 Community Plus+ Yeronga Community Centre celebrated this morning with a game of musical bingo for their community.
🎉 Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre (HBNC) is celebrating the heart of their community on Wednesday 21st May through Chat with Friends, a relaxed monthly catch-up where locals come together to talk, laugh, and feel more connected.
🎉 Pomona & District Community House Inc, Nambour Community Centre, Maleny Neighbourhood Centre, Caloundra Community Centre, Gympie Community Place, Maroochy Neighbourhood Centre Inc., North Shore Community Centre, Mudjimba and Baringa Community Centre are partnering to gather, connect and celebrate over a BBQ on Friday 16th May with their staff, partners and volunteers including friends and family.
🎉 Better Together Community Support is hosting Brunch Together on Friday 16th May, a relaxed morning event where you can enjoy good food, great company and the welcoming spirit that makes their Centre so special.
🎉 Inala Community House met with participants over a cuppa with scones, and invited them to complete a postcard asking what the Centre meant to them – themes included friendships, being healthy, having morning tea and interacting with Centre staff. Participants loved the activity!
