Fifty-five Centres across the state are involved with NCQ’s Community Food Program, delivering locally-led initiatives to enhance food literacy, support personal health and community wellbeing, create opportunities for employment and volunteering, and encourage collaboration through food-based projects and social enterprises.

Through NCQ’s Community Food Project, NOTCH (North Townsville Community Hub) was able to purchase a small fridge to help keep donated food fresh for longer during the summer heat. That means less waste and more food available to local families.

Leah and Micah from NCQ recently visited North Townsville Community Hub (NOTCH) to catch up and see their community-led work in action.

This program is funded by the Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety.
