Over the past year, 20 Neighbourhood Centres in Queensland have been delivering engaging energy literacy initiatives as part of the Charge Up project. The Charge Up project is delivered in partnership with QCOSS, NCQ and Energetic Communities Association and funded by the Department of Energy and Climate’s Enable Grants Program.

Near the beginning of the project, energy education resources were co-designed with stakeholders, and all resources are available here, open for anyone to access and use. These resources have been valuable as support for referring to and guiding conversations. Many Centres have energy information booths set up, inspiring conversations with community members facing bill shock, or seeking to understand how they can manage energy challenges.

Energy is a basic human right, and the need to help community members with energy issues continues. With project funding ending in December, Centres and communities are urgently seeking opportunities to continue the work they have begun in the energy space.
