Neighbourhood Centres Queensland are excited to host Neighbourhood Centre State Wide Gathering at the Queensland Community Development Conference.
Neighbourhood Centres are experts at building local community, relationships, networks and support. The State-Wide gathering is an opportunity for us to come together and do that with one another. We will celebrate who we are and build a sense of connection and community together.
Where: Sandstone Point Hotel, 1800 Bribie Island Rd, Sandstone Point QLD 4511
When: Monday 16th October 2023 (The Qld CD Conference starts on the night of 16th October and runs until 18th October)
Time: 9:00am to 4pm
Who: Neighbourhood Centre staff/volunteers involved in centre coordination or community development.
Cost: Free
Registrations: Open Now
Neighbourhood Centres are also strongly encouraged to present at the conference. Further details and registrations for the Queensland Community Development Conference can be found on the conference website.
Centres seeking affordable accommodation at the conference are advised to share accommodation at Sandstone Point with other centres or seek accommodation at Ballara on Bribie Island which is very close to the venue.

Council is proud to host Community Development Queensland’s 24th state-wide conference. This is a professional development conference for anyone volunteering or working with community.
Join us to share knowledge and explore ideas around the following themes:
- reimagining your practice for social justice
- rediscovering your passion for the work, people and place
- regenerating your community, neighbourhood, projects and groups
- reigniting community and civic participation.

The conference will be held over three days at the Sandstone Point Hotel, Sandstone Point.

In 2023, QCOSS is recognising the enormous contribution of the community services sector. These organisations and the people who work with them, have been essential to keeping Queensland’s communities connected and safe.
The 2023 Queensland Community Impact Awards will publicly recognise some of the hardest workers in our state.
Join us as we celebrate them at the 2023 Queensland Community Impact Awards Celebration Dinner on Thursday 2 November.
The Awards will recognise and celebrate our sector’s contribution across four areas:
