Sally Foreman from NCQ recently joined members of the Power Together Alliance in a meeting with Sam O’Connor MP to discuss opportunities for Adaptation and Resilience Funding, with a focus on supporting low-income renters and addressing social housing needs.

Power Together is calling for practical, community-level solutions to help lower energy costs and strengthen community resilience. This includes funding for solar and battery systems for all Neighbourhood Centres (ask #11 in their 2025 Policy Report). This would ensure Centres are able to keep operating during power outages and continue providing essential support and a safe place for their community when it’s needed most.

As the first point of contact for many Queenslanders doing it tough, Neighbourhood Centres see every day how rising power bills and cost of living pressures impact households. NCQ supports initiatives that work to make renewable energy and energy efficiency upgrades accessible for all Queenslanders.
