Neighbourhood Centres promote inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. They provide universal and ongoing support, regardless of age, ethnicity, culture, sexual orientation, gender, or circumstance.

As part of Harmony Week (17-23 March), Harmony Day (21 March) and A Taste of Harmony campaign (17 March-18 April), Neighbourhood Centres across Queensland are hosting a range of events to celebrate cultural diversity in their communities and reinforce the message that ‘everyone belongs’.

Bundaberg & District Neighbourhood Centre is hosting Culture Bites on 22 March as part of Harmony Week. The event is an opportunity to explore explore Sri Lankan culture, savour delicious dishes from around the world and connect with the community.

Mareeba Community Centre is celebrating ‘Taste of Harmony’ with two weeks of cultural festivities. Taste of Asia: Bring along your favourite Asian dish and join in the fun with activities like origami, chatterbox games, and beanbag throwing. Mexican and Spanish Week: Share a meal with the community by bringing a plate of Mexican or Spanish food and get creative by decorating clay sugar skulls.

Elorac Place is hosting their biggest and most popular annual event for Harmony Day. Being held on 21 March, the event will include cultural performances, multicultural food, games for kids and much more.

The Neighbourhood Hub Cultural Connections is inviting migrant and multicultural community members to attend their Harmony Day celebrations of First Nations Culture including traditional dances, food and activities.

Encircle Pine Rivers Neighbourhood Centre is inviting community to celebrate culture and diversity as part of Harmony Day, including delicious food from around the world, interactive activities for all ages and engaging cultural workshops.

Deception Bay Neighbourhood Centre is hosting Communi-Tea, a special Harmony Week morning tea where they’ll share delicious multicultural dishes and celebrate the amazing diversity in their community.

Tully Support Centre Inc is hosting a morning tea to celebrate inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.
Burdekin Community Association Inc. is hosting an event including food samples, recipes and music playing from around the world.
Gin Gin Neighbourhood Centre is inviting their community to decorate a paper doll to reflect their cultural background as part of their Multicultural Paper Doll Workshop. The completed dolls will be placed within the Hub, bringing the Gin Gin community together.
