Disasters are impacting our communities with more intensity and frequency. We know community groups, organisations and services play important roles in supporting their communities before, during and after a disaster event. That’s why it’s important these organisations are resilient. The Disaster Resilience Scorecard is a free online tool to help organisations identify how disaster resilient and disaster ready their organisation is, and where they can improve.
Based on federally funded research, the Scorecard invites participants to answer a number of questions and upon completion provides a report on the resliience level of the organisation (based on the thirteen indicators of a resilient organisation), as well as links to resources to support taking action to strengthen the organisations resilience.
Unlike other tools available, this tool is specifically designed for community groups, organisations and services who support communities through times of disasters. The Scorecard had been co-designed with Neighbourhood Centres, and any Centre can use the tool or encourage community groups in their network to try it.
NCQ is proud to be partnering with four Centres to co-deliver this project: Lockyer Community Centre, Manoora Neighbourhood Centre (CentaCare FNQ), Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre and Redland Community Centre.
