From May 8 to 14, people across Australia are celebrating the work of Neighbourhood and Community Centres and the extraordinary impact they have within their local community.
This year’s theme is “Locals Connecting Locals”.
It’s a theme that acknowledges the importance of Locals Connecting Locals in facing all community challenges, from disasters to social isolation to the rising cost of living. It acknowledges the importance of ‘Locals Connecting Locals’ in creating the inclusive and resilient communities they are a part of, and it acknowledges the unique role of Neighbourhood and Community Centres in connecting locals and supporting this community-led change.
