NCQ is working to strengthen relationships between our sector and the disaster management sector while raising awareness of the value and role of Neighbourhood and Community Centres in place-based disaster resilience work.

As part of this work, NCQ has been successful in obtaining Category C QLD Flood Funding to host a ‘Growing Resilience Forum’. The purpose of the forum is to strengthen relationships, shared understanding and collaboration of the disaster management sector and its systems across Queensland. The forum will include:

  • A Neighbourhood Centre Growing Resilience Morning Workshop. This is a great opportunity to meet others who work at Neighbourhood Centres and support their community through disasters.
  • Lunch and afternoon Forum with NCCs and representatives from the broader disaster management sector.
  • The official launch of the QLD Neighbourhood Centres Strategy for Disaster Resilience 2023 – 2026
  • Networking opportunities

When: Monday, July 10, 10.00am – 6.00pm
Where: RAVC Royal Pines, Gold Coast, QLD, Australia
Cost: Free to attend (including lunch, afternoon tea & grazing platters)
