Whitsunday Neighbourhood Centre delivers Christmas Gift Shop and Adopt A Family Appeal

Whitsunday Neighbourhood Centre are stepping up to support their community this holiday season through a number of initiatives. Through their Adopt a Family Christmas Gift Appeal, individuals and businesses can ‘adopt’ a family or individual by donating gift vouchers, empowering community members to choose what suits their needs best.

The Centre is also running a free Christmas Gift Shop, to ensure that every child in their community has a gift to open on Christmas morning. Open to anyone facing challenges, families can register to visit the shop which offers donated new and unopened toys.

Logan Village and Districts Community Centre creates cheer with inclusive community carols, meals, movie nights and markets 

Logan Village and Districts Community Centre is bringing festive cheer to the community with a range of Christmas events these holidays.

The celebrations include a christmas carols event featuring live entertainment, market stalls, food trucks, and a laser light show. Families can also enjoy a magical Christmas Movie Night at the village green, complete with a sausage sizzle and a visit from Santa.

To top it off, the Centre is hosting a free Christmas lunch for the community on December 19, offering a warm and welcoming way to celebrate Christmas together.

Redland Community Centre ensures every child wakes up to gifts on Christmas morning 

This year, the Redland Community Centre Christmas Project is brighter than ever! The initiative is entirely supported by the generosity of the local community and aims to ensure that every child wakes up to gifts on Christmas morning.

Families can personally select gifts during their designated time slot, guided by a volunteer through the Centre’s festive Christmas space. This approach lets parents and guardians choose presents that best suit their children, empowering families to celebrate Christmas with a sense of agency.

ECHO in Malanda packs 60 Christmas Hampers

ECHO put together over 60 Christmas hampers for their community with thanks to groups, families, businesses, and individuals who contributed so generously. They will be distributed to applicants in the community facing hardship this holiday season.

Hambledon House Community Centre in Cairns a vital community conduit this Christmas

Hambledon House Community Centre was part of this year’s Mayors Christmas Cheer Appeal program in Cairns. The program provides food hampers to support individuals and families in need during the holiday season.

Officers and Sailors of HMAS Cairns delivered the hampers from the Cairns Regional Council to Hambledon House for registered community members to collect. This inspiring example of community partnership was praised by Councillor Matthew Tickner of Cairns Regional Council who said, “Thank you Hambledon House for being the vital community conduit!”

Carinity Fassifern Community Centre hosts popular Christmas Luncheon

Carinity Fassifern Community Centre hosted an early Christmas luncheon, complete with live music, for their community. The event was open to all and was a great success, bringing together over 95 attendees to share in the festive spirit!
