Description

In 2022, NCQ began working in partnership with Good Shepherd Australia to enhance Financial Resilience through Neighbourhood Centres. Good Shepherd have developed some valuable resources to assist Neighbourhood Centres to respond to financial vulnerability in communities, including this excellent report on “buy now pay later” schemes. The report highlights that those mainly affected are women, younger people, single parents and people on lower incomes.  BNPL schemes largely operate unregulated and the report makes a number of recommendations to ensure that those experiencing financial vulnerability are not exploited.
