For the past three years, Maryborough Neighbourhood Centre’s Blooming Kindness Project has brought the community together to share kindness and connection through the gift of flowers.
The Centre’s dedicated volunteer florist, supported by other local volunteers, creates beautiful floral arrangements for people in the community who are grieving, going through a difficult time, or feeling isolated or lonely.
Each arrangement is a meaningful gesture, delivered with a message of hope and a reminder to the person receiving it that their community is thinking of them and that they are not alone.
Through the project, community members are able to contribute in practical and meaningful ways, from volunteering their time, to donating flowering plants or greenery to be grown at the Centre, sharing flowers or foliage from their own gardens, or contributing to the cost of materials and fresh blooms.
Community members are also invited to nominate someone who may benefit from receiving a floral arrangement. While arrangements depend on availability, the Maryborough Neighbourhood Centre team always does their best to respond where they can.
