Description
This 2-page case study captures the work of  several Neighbourhood Centres including Gailes Community House and Rosewood Community Centre who were supported by Ipswich City Council to establish Community Early Response Teams (CERT). CERTs are made up of local community volunteers who provide initial support during or after a disaster or emergency. The case study includes a project overview, a list of key outcomes, key learnings and a summary of community-led considerations.
This case study is a part of a series of case studies capturing examples community-led disaster resilience taking place in Neighbourhood Centres, and supports the delivery of the Queensland Neighbourhood Centres Strategy for Disaster Resilience 2023-2026.
