Street Libraries are popping up in front yards, community spaces and Neighbourhood Centres across Queensland. They’re small homes for big ideas, inviting people to swap a story and spark a conversation.

Community-led initiatives like Street Libraries show how everyday moments like picking up a book can build connection and belonging.

Last year, almost half (47%) of Centres offered a Library Service or Book Swap (including Street Libraries), helping stories and connections travel far beyond their shelves.

When we share books, we share community. Why not visit your local Neighbourhood Centre and see what stories you might discover? Find your local Centre, here.

Just some of the Centres across Queensland offering Street Libraries include The Neighbourhood Hub in Mackay, Benarrawa Community Development Association in Graceville, Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre (HBNC), The Community Place in Kalinga and Stafford, Gailes Community House – Family and Community Hub and The Bowen Community Centre.
