With Centres, community organisations and groups vital in helping their communities through disasters, NCQ is facilitating workshops at Centres and online to help them get ready for disaster season.

The workshops introduce the Resilience Readiness Scorecard, a free online tool that helps community organisations assess their disaster preparedness and identify practical steps to strengthen it further. Participants use the scorecard and discuss priority actions their organisation can take to get prepared and be more resilient to disasters when they hit.

NCQ has now run these workshops at four Neighbourhood Centres, and the response has been positive. Organisations completing the scorecard report they feel “more prepared for storm season” and “have a clearer direction of what actions to prioritise to increase the resilience of their organisation”.

Thanks to Manoora Neighbourhood Centre, Weipa Community Care Association, Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre and Winton Neighbourhood Centre for hosting us.

If your organisation would like to host us to run a 90-minute workshop for community groups, organisations and services in your local area, please reach out to Micah Lean: .
